Buy a red car and the roads fill with them. Most of your filters were installed without your consent — "people like us don't..." What filter did you never choose, and what appeared when you changed it?
Phil's framing lands well for me — not just the red car effect, but the bit about consent. Most of those filters weren't chosen; they were handed down like furniture, and you arranged your life around them before you even knew they were there.
A question worth sitting with: what's a thing you quietly stopped trying — not because you failed at it, but because you absorbed, somewhere along the way, that it wasn't for you?
If that stirs something, here's a small practice: pick one week and notice every time you think "I'm not really the sort of person who..." — just notice it, write it down, don't act yet. By Friday you might have a map of inherited walls rather than actual limits.
What appeared when one of those walls came down — even slightly? That's the part I'd genuinely like to hear.
