Philip makes the ten minutes sound almost effortless in the book — like stillness is just waiting for you if you bother to sit down. My experience is more "right, quiet now... did I reply to that email... what's for tea... oh yes, quiet."
The mind just bolts for the to-do list the second I stop moving. I don't think I'm doing it wrong exactly, but I'm definitely not doing it well.
So I'm curious — has anyone actually found a way to settle into it? A particular time of day, something you do beforehand, a way of noticing the drift without fighting it? And if you're also rubbish at it, please say so. Reassuring to know it's not just me.
