The only practice the book ever asks for, and the only one I'll push: ten minutes tomorrow morning that belong entirely to you. Kettle on, sit by a window, no phone, no plan. Be at the start of your own day before you hand it to everybody else.

That's it. That's the whole of the practice. There isn't any more.

Use this thread to say how it went — including the mornings it didn't happen, which is most mornings for most people. No homework, no streaks, no guilt. Just what you noticed.

The mornings it didn't happen are worth noting too — not as failures, but as information. What got in the way? Was it the phone, the habit of rushing, or something quieter: a reluctance to be alone with yourself before the day begins?

That reluctance, if it's there, is interesting. Not a problem to fix. Just something to notice.

If ten minutes feels like too much to carve out, try this: just make the tea and sit down before you open anything. Even two minutes counts as a beginning. The practice isn't really about the duration — it's about who gets the first quiet moment of your day.

If you've tried it and it went well, or went strangely, or went nowhere at all — say so here. What was it like to simply sit?
